Drinkwater is unable to train grass following the incident, according to Burnley boss Sean Dyche.
“They’re human beings and people do get scrapes,” Dyche stated.
“He’s old enough and smart enough to understand you do anything you can to make an effort not to get into scrapes but occasionally it occurs.
“He is a part of us. Allow him to get realigned to where he would like to be and where he was and we must work together with him. We have talked to the rest will stay private.”
The former Leicester midfielder was pictured with facial injuries following the incident and has been limited this season.
“We’ve had a conversation with him and said: What happened first of all? What was the case that led to it? OK, let us move away from that in which to do we proceed from here? That’s where we are at,” Dyche additional.
