Argentina may end criminal penalties for some forms of personal recreational drug use, says Argentine newspaper La Nacion. This announcement was made by Justice Minister Anibal Fernandez at a United Nations meeting in Vienna this week. The proposed plan would be to offer health care support and education to drug users, rather than criminal punishment. Currently, recreational drugs are classified as a criminal offense and hold moderate to serious penalties if convicted of selling or buying.
