Buenos Aires to Prohibit Vehicular Traffic in Parts of City

1 Comment Print

According to the blog Buenos Aires Daily, the city has put a plan in place that would restrict vehicular traffic to only avenues in the crowded microcentro area downtown. This would effectively open up the smaller streets to pedestrians, and reduce both noise and air pollution. The planned traffic restrictions would not take effect until 2009. Traffic is a major problem in microcentro, and makes pedestrian navigation nearly impossible on some streets.
