Argentina is not only among the safest countries in Latin America, but can often be safer than your hometown in the United States, says travel writer and blogger Wayne Bernhardson. Bernhardson writes in his most recent blog of how many Americans have a misconception of health and safety while traveling in South America.
Though there are many dangerous places on the southern continent, as a whole, the dangers are often overexaggerated. In a recent discussion on Buenos Aires in Los Angeles, Bernhardson compared the two cities, saying “In Buenos Aires, there are no drive-by shootings.” The bottom line is that if you keep you’re wits about you, you can have as safe and fun of a travel experience as you would touring the United States.
