Argentine President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner will visit the UK next week to meet with world leaders and discuss a potential return of the Falkland Islands back to Argentina. The Islands, also known as the Islas Malvinas, have been under British control since 1982, when the two nations fought a brief war over the disputed territory. Argentina has always laid claim to the islands, which are just off the Argentine coast, and the war has been a sore spot for the reputation of the country. April 2nd will mark the 26th anniversary of the Falkland invasion, and this time, Argentina hopes to regain the islands through diplomacy, rather than fighting.
