Comedian Carolla Calls Argentine Tango ‘Prostitute’ Dance on Live TV

American comedian and former Man Show host Adam Carolla made a few lewd remarks on ABC’s Dancing with the Stars which angered some entertainment bloggers in the US. When asked about the dance after his performance of a tango routine on the show, Carolla said, “Well, my grandfather always told me, son, if you want to learn about an Argentenian dance about prostitutes, speak to a Mormon.” “And I didn’t know what he meant, back on his knees, back on his knees…in 1971…but I now know.”

Not only was this perplexing, but it got a cold response from the live audience, as well as some of the 5.6 million viewers in the US. In his interview also took stabs at his partner’s wardrobe, hinting it was ‘too gay’. Not sure what the Mormon reference is all about, but the blogosphere’s abuzz with it, so it must have offended someone.

Well it’s the best sex I’ve had without taking my clothes off!

His dancing partner was a young Mormon woman. His joke was not perplexing. The dance supposedly has a sordid history and it’s ironic that a conservative Mormon would teach it to him.
