Government bureaucracy is everywhere in Argentina. Forms, procedures, office locations, timing, and regulations are all hurdles that must be crossed before setting up a business in the South American nation. Today, paisleychick of Beatrice M’s blog writes about her person struggle to go through the tedious process of registering with the government to start her own business. Incorrect addresses of offices, long train rides, and tedious waits for consultations hampered her daily process. As the Argentine economy steadily rebounds from the 2001 collapse, many people are riding the wave of prosperity into starting their own business. Let this be a cautionary tale, however, because starting a business here is an uphill battle. Like everything in Buenos Aires, it takes patience and perseverance.
