Holy Hellmann’s, Argentine Commercial Brings Ketchup to a Whole New Level
Apr 11, 2008 1 Comment PrintHot dogs, fries, burgers, and even eggs have been the preferred venues for the lovely condiment for years. Ketchup is a staple of American fast food, but in Argentina it’s just catching on as a condiment. In most restaurants in Buenos Aires, ketchup is only provided when asked for, and mayo is king when flavoring that burger or fries. Hellmann’s is looking to change that with a new ad campaign which suggests using the sweet red condiment on everything, literally. Check one of the ads here. Pizza sauce? Ketchup. According to this Mom/Son combo, there’s no other way.

your post made me laugh out loud. every day at the gym i hear the most anoying ad for ketchup hellmann’s. it’s with that little boy telling a fairy tale. it makes me so crazy.
they put salsa golf on everything down here and there’s a whole aisle of mayo at my local Disco supermarket. I guess ketchup must be the next big thing?
I just wonder why Heinz isn’t getting into it down here…they’re the original aren’t they?
