British Blogger Bewildered By Argentine Healthcare

British blogger and traveler Parkerich writes of his experience with trying to find medical attention in San Rafael, near Mendoza. Long lines, distant locations for private hospitals, and distant appointment times are the norm in the western part of the Argentine countryside. His story, however, may be lost on those living in Buenos Aires, where the medical care is the best in the country. Though there are many stories of poor healthcare in the capital, the general consensus is that it’s top notch. The theme in Argentine healthcare is privatization. The best hospitals are private, and the more you pay, obviously, the better treatment you get. Unfortunately for Parkerich, in his travels, this wasn’t the case.
