Flying to Buenos Aires is often a long, tedious trip for travelers. People coming from the United States, Europe, Australia, and Asia will typically be in the air for 10+ hours at a time. Dr. Leonardo Tondo, a psychiatrist with offices in Rome, Boston, and Buenos Aires, has a unique system he uses to make his flights comfortable, efficient, and tolerable. He travels to Buenos Aires about 5 times a year, and can relate to the hassle of airports, long flights, and time-zone changes.

Tondo says he minimizes packing, leaving separate sets of clothes in each of the three cities he frequents. While this is impossible for the casual traveler, it is still smart to pack only what you need, or are willing to carry for long distances. He carries a noise-cancelling headset, sleeping mask, and earplugs so he can sleep. He also recommends sitting in the last row of the plane. The row is usually sold last, so many times you can stretch out, and have the entire row to yourself. His biggest pet peeve is taking off his shoes in the security line, and his least favorite airport in London’s Heathrow International.
