Apr 24, 2008 Click to Comment → PrintBusiness students at Illinois State University have recently secured a two-year, $165,000 grant to do summer international business research projects in countries such as Argentina. In late May, six students from the college of business will head down to Buenos Aires for 4 weeks to help develop products for Maui Jim, a Peoria, Ill. based sunglasses manufacturer. They will also work with the Carus Corporation, an Illinois-based water purification company. The hopes are that these students will gain valuable international business skills, as well as honing their Spanish and discovering the ins and outs of Argentine culture. Along with working and studying, the students will travel to various parts of the country as tourists, with all expenses covered by the grant.
