Today, the English blues legend John Mayall makes his third appearance playing in Buenos Aires at the Teatro Gran Rex. His first trip to the country was in 1985, shortly after the Malvinas disaster, at the Rock and Pop Festival. Featured in a recent BBC documentary called “The Grandfather of Blues,” Mayall has been an influential figure in music for many years and has played with other music greats, including Eric Clapton. His return to Buenos Aires with his band, “The Bluesbreakers,” is part of an extended world tour that includes Brazil, Argentina, the United States, and many countries in Europe. When asked if at the age of 76 so much traveling was becoming exhausting, Mayall told the Clarín that “music is healing.” Tonight he will get the change to heal a few thousand Argentines and foreigners.
