Confucius Institute to Open in Buenos Aires at UBA

The University of Buenos Aires and the Chinese Ambassador to Argentina signed an agreement on Wednesday to open the first Confucius Institute in Argentina. The Confucius Institute was opened in 2004 in Soule, Korea and is a non-profit organization dedicated to teaching Chinese and spreading Chinese culture. It is now affiliated with prestigious universities across the world. As part of the UBA, the center will further the cultural exchange between the two nations already happening in Barrio Chino and in the many Chinese businesses across the nation. According to China View, Argentina has 20 different institutes and universities teaching the Chinese language.
