Argentina Doubles its Internet Connections in 2008

1 Comment Print

According to a recent survey, Argentines should have a total of 3.5 million broadband connections as of the end of 2008. At the end of March of this year, the number of connections had reached 3 million, an increase of about 50 percent compared to the number of connections last year. The large number of Argentines connecting to the web at home and in internet cafes reflects Argentina’s increasing prosperity and makes the country more accessible to foreigners researching the region for travel. Half of the internet connections are in Buenos Aires, where the population is nearly saturated, but there are still ample business opportunities for internet companies in cities such as Cordoba, Rosario, Mendoza, Mar del Plata and Salta.
