Mendoza, known for its wines, is constantly expanding, and currently the Bodegas Salentein are on of the hot-spots being added to the wine lover’s map of places to visit. According to the Post Bulletin, the Bodegas Salentein are sixty-five miles south of Mendoza city on the eastern slopes of the Andes. They gained fame in the 90’s when, upon opening, the Mendoza architectural firm of Bormida & Yanzon won the Prism International Award for its design of the winery. Made from stone, it is in the shape of a cross. These same architects designed the wineries of the bodegas El Portillo and Fournier, which are currently opening in the same region as Salentein. A growing attraction for wine lovers, the region also boasts art galleries and excellent regional food.
