Javier Calamaro, a well known Argentina singer, gave a concert this weekend to welcome the right whales currently migrating north. According to the International News, Calamaro performed seven meters underwater in a special recording studio capsule off the coast of the Valdes peninsula in Chubut province. The show lasted for 40 minutes and was broadcast on television and online. There is now a video of the performance on YouTube. Right whales travel along this stretch of coast from May until December to give birth, attracting over 100,000 tourists every year. The whales can be seen from the beaches and from special whale watching boat tours.
