Argentine Diego Percivaldi drove with his wife and young son from Pacheco, Argentina to the Ford Headquarters in Dearborn, Michigan. According to the Associated Press, the trip lasted 47 days as they drove around 10,000 miles through 11 countries in a 1981 Ford Falcon. Percivaldi had taken nearly three years to plan the trip and had to reconstruct much of the car’s engine to make it powerful enough to sustain the long journey. According to Percivaldi, the Ford Falcon has a sentimental place in the hearts of Argentines, perhaps explaining why he would take such an incredible trip to arrive, unannounced, at the doors of the Ford Factory where its design originated so many years ago.  Those interested can read more about his trip and his car at his blog site.
