According to La Nacion, This year’s ArteBA set the record for the largest attendance in the 17-year history of the event with 120,000 people. The President of the ArteBA Foundation, Facundo Gómez Minujín, attributed the massive attendance to a public “search for the highest level of creativity.” He also noted that the age of attendees is lower than before, with the majority of visitors in their 30’s. These people, he claims, appreciate the search for a new language that the art fair is all about. Artists also faired well selling their art and attracting museums; the Los Angeles Museum of Modern Art is interested in one piece, the Tate Modern in London in another. Such successes should keep the international involvement in the fair growing, perhaps making next year even bigger than this one.
