Cerro Catedral, one of Argentina’s best known ski slopes, announced that this coming Thursday, June 12th, will be the opening day for the 2008 ski season. Cerro Catedral is a mountain 12 miles from Bariloche that has 77 miles of ski runs and a life capacity of 22,200 skiers per hour. It is one of the most modern ski facilities in all of South America, with gourmet restaurants and excellent hotels as well.  This year is the mountain’s 70th anniversary as a ski slope, and celebrations are on the agenda as the 2008 season gets underway! When the center opens on the 17th, the next week, until the 22nd, will be dedicated to celebrating the national Festival of Snow.

Thanks for the correction Jamie! Wish I was going to be there for the first run. Skiing is the best thing about winter. well, that and hot chocolate with a shot of Baileys.
