The 4th Buenos Aires Tango Festival is a one of the most important tango events outside of Argentina. Multidisciplinary, the festival has music, dance, poetry, videos, photography, and master classes and is sure to excite the over 5,000 people already dancing tango in Paris. Part of the Argentine government’s plan to develop tango as an international dance, festivals like this one create understanding and appreciation of tango as a dance intrinsic to the Argentine way of life. According to the government, tango abroad is a central way of promoting the city and bringing it to greater international prominence. The festival began on June 5th and runs for 15 days.
