iPhone is Causing a Stir Worldwide, But Argentines Are Still Waiting
Jun 12, 2008 Click to Comment → PrintThe G3 iPhone, which was released last Monday, is still listed as “coming soon†for Argentina. However, both Claro and now Telefonica are planning to sell the phone later this year. Currently released in 22 countries, the iPhone will cost $199 for the 8GB version and $299 for the 16GB model. It runs on the G3 network, which is already in place over Buenos Aires, Rosario, Cordoba, Asunción, Montevideo and most of the Atlantic Coast. In Argentina, technology is often bought in the US where it is cheaper and then brought to Argentina. However, according to one blogger, these new phones will be harder to “crack,†or use quasi-illegally. This means that Argentines may have to actually wait a while longer before getting their hands on this new, nifty device from Apple.
