Flag Day in Argentina seems never ending: the day of work was June 16th, the official holiday was the 20th, and this Sunday the celebration continued with the 7th annual marathon in Rosario. Rosario, with its huge Monument to the Flag, is the official site of Flag Day celebrations, although this year Christina didn’t attend due to bad weather and bad vibes over the farming strike. According to La Capital, there was a record number of runners—1,200—in this years marathon. Over the years, this race has become one of the most widely known sporting events in the country, drawing participants from all the provinces. The winner was Cristian Mohammed, a man from San Rafael, Mendoza, who finished the race in two hours, 27 minutes, and 57 seconds.
