Two of Argentina’s major ski slopes made OnTheSnow’s 2008 top ten places to ski in July or August. At number three is Las Leñas, which OnTheSnow says has one of the best ski lift systems in South America, with 16 total lifts all named after Roman gods. This beautiful resort is near to Santiago, Chile and there are frequent flights there from Buenos Aires. Second on the top ten list is Cerro Catedral, which is 19 km from Bariloche. They compliment the abundance of accommodation, great slopes, and long season, which doesn’t end until October 30th. These two ski resorts represent some of the best of Argentina competing against what the rest of the world has to offer.
