Four tons of fossils, including dinosaur eggs, were returned to Buenos Aires yesterday from the United States. According to the Clarín, their arrival ended a long search that had begun in 2006 when Interpol—the international police force—discovered fossils being taken from Argentina to the United States for a minerals fair. Two years later, these valuable fossils are back on Argentine soil, and with a military escort no less. The trafficking of cultural goods is the third largest black market trade in the world behind the drugs and arms trade. These fossils can only be found in Argentina and they will now be housed at the Museo Argentino de Ciencias Naturales Bernardino Rivadavia in Buenos Aires on Av. Angel Gallardo.
