The “Festival de la Luz,” or festival of light, is a celebration of photography that takes place in 22 cities across Argentina, including Buenos Aires, Mendoza, Salta, and La Rioja. According to the official website, the scope of the “exhibit” is enormous. It comprises over 80 different photographic exhibits, shown at museums and cultural centers, as well as round table discussions, films, and photography workshops. In Buenos Aires, the festival will take place in some of the city’s most well known venues, including the Recoleta Cultural Center and the Borges Cultural Center. The festival begins August 1st and goes until September 30th, so those traveling around the country in the next two months will have many opportunities to enjoy this massive celebration of photography, which drew 1,200,000 visitors last year.
