Rossini’s The Barber of Seville Opens at End of August

The non-profit opera organization Juventus Lyrica opens their performance of The Barber of Seville in the Teatro Avenida on Avenida de Mayo. The opera is by Gioacchino Rossini and opened for the first time in Rome in 1816. The story follows the character of Figaro, the barber of Seville, who ends up orchestrating a romance between Rosina and Count Almavida. This opera is one of the most well known in the world and has entertained audiences for nearly 200 years. According to My Buenos Aires Travel Guide, the performances will be on two successive weekends: August 29th and 31st and September 4th, 5th, and 6th. Tickets are available at the theater or via Entrada Plus.
