The Colon Theater has been under construction since the end of October 2006, and now the project is getting a new wind as various organizations in charge of the renovation are meeting to discuss the project’s future. According to La Nación, the Ministry of Urban development will meet next week with the companies in charge of restoring the theater. The company Syasa is currently assessing the progress made up to this point in the interior and they will have to present their plans for the future based on this assessment. Mauricio Macri wants the theater to be open by the 25 of May, 2010—the nation’s bicentennial—for a performance of Aida. To achieve this, everyone will have to work together and work hard to get this wonderful theater as good as old—as good as it was when it was inaugurated in 1908.
