Gaby Kerpel, who performed last night at the El Nacional bar in Buenos Aires, is known for his creative combinations of Latin American indigenous music and folkloric sounds with modern technology. Dubbed as a “techo-folk” musician, Kerpel doesn’t seem like the most main stream of musicians, and he isn’t. But, according to What’s Up Buenos Aires, he has been paired with big names for some time now. His work was praised by Axel K, his concert attended by Juana Molina, and the plays to which he wrote the music were performed in London and New York and are now touring the world. A star that is rising, and has been for some time now, Kerpel is worth going to see and his performances this Sunday and next at Notorious on Callao 996 are a steal at 25 pesos.
