Beginning tomorrow and running until September 21st, “Ballet Argentino” will show Buenos Aires the ways in which ballet, tango, and traditional ballroom dancing can be artistically blended together. The show, which has traveled throughout Argentina and Spain, has three parts. The first, “Nine Sinatra Songs,” uses Sinatra’s music to bring out the great elements in ballroom dance. Then, “Tango,” follows, a piece choreographed by Oscar Araiz in 1975 that combines ballet and tango. The last piece is entitled “Besame,” or “Kiss me.” According to My Buenos Aires Travel Guide, the show stars Eleonora Cassano, Hernan Piquin, and Cecilia Figaredo and takes place at Teatro Maipo Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 8pm. Tickets cost from 90 to 200 pesos and can be bought at the theater.
