This year, Argentina may have Daylight Savings as early as October 19th, a big change from last year, when Daylight Savings occurred on December 30th. According to Time and Date, there have been numerous talks between scientists, academics and the Buenos Aires Naval Observatory (ONBA), which is responsible for the nation’s official time. These talks focused on whether, by moving Daylight Savings time forward, Argentina would be able to save on power costs and fix some of the energy problems the nation is facing. Other topics under discussion were alternative ways to create energy, like wind and solar power. It is unclear as of yet whether this change will take effect and, if it does, if it will be national or restricted to only certain provinces.
