“El Amor es un Francotirador” (“Love is a Sniper”) is the new album by the Argentine group Lola Arias & Ulises Conti. The album has an interesting history, emerging as it did from a theatrical experiment between the two artists. According to What’s Up Buenos Aires, Lola Arias wrote the music, directed, and was the lead singer for a show of the same title: “Love is a Sniper.” This “show,” which was performance art with a little bit of rock concert, choreography, and art installation mixed together, was eventually recorded live and released as an album. A unique piece of musicianship, the live performance of the recording of the live performance will certainly be interesting. It will be performed by the band this Friday and next Friday at the Thelonius Club in Palermo; the show starts at 12:30am.
