On Wednesday, the Argentine Paralympics soccer team won the bronze medal in Beijing, defeating Spain in penalties and winning 1-0. According to the Rio Negro, the team is called the “Murciélagos,†because they are all blind as “bats,†a requirement to play soccer in the Paralympics. The starting line up of the team was Gonzalo Abbas Hachaché, Eduardo DÃaz, Diego Cerega, Silvio Velo y Lucas RodrÃguez. The team was very excited about their victory, especially after such a long and grueling game that was locked in a tie. Following in the steps of the Olympic soccer team, which took gold in Beijing, the Murciélagos continued Argentina’s legacy of being a soccer power in any arena.
