Beginning in November, LAN Argentina will add three more weekly flights from Buenos Aires to Rio Gallegos, a city in Patagonia. LAN Argentina and the Patagonian Santa Cruz government have agreed to this increase in flights for a sex month trial period, during which time they will see if there is enough demand for the flights. According to Mercopress, LAN Argentina has been aggressively adding routes in the face of Aerolineas Argentinas’ recent problems. Currently, LAN Argentina has three daily flights to Iguazu Falls, three to Bariloche, five to Cordoba, and three to Mendoza, as well as flights to Salta. Soon, they will fly a total of four times a week to Rio Gallegos, increasing the number of tourists who have access to the region and, hopefully, benefitting all.
