The “Collectables and Collectors†Exhibit puts the ordinary objects of the past—a dance card, a pocket watch, a hand held fan—in a place of importance, asking the viewer to recognize their beauty, age, and uniqueness. According to My Buenos Aires Travel Guide, the collection features such decorative items as a “Meissen porcelain monkey figures from the XIX century; Chinese hard rocks; Christ and Good Shepherd ivory carvings made in Goa (India); English and French silver sieves; [and] toy ships from the first half of XX century,†to name only a few. The exhibit begins today and ends of November 23rd. It takes place in the National Museum of Decorative Arts from 2 to 7, Tuesday through Sunday, and costs 2 pesos.
