Yesterday, Microsoft released a digital map of Argentina, including the coordinates and streets of 59 of the nation’s cities. According to La Nación, the maps will show the state of traffic at the time the viewer is online and will also be able to locate from businesses. The maps can be accessed on the site and the maps will be created anew from photographs from satellites every 15 to 30 minutes. There are 700,000 businesses listed on the site. Still mostly a blob on Google Maps, this new site is an exciting resource for Argentines. Argentina is the second Latin American country to be mapped by Microsoft and Microsoft invested around 100,000 dollars locally to get the maps made.
