Cuchi Leguizamón Honored at Feria de Mataderos

Gustavo “Cuchi” Leguizamón, a pianist and composer from Salta, was honored yesterday at the Feria de Mataderos in Buenos Aires. According to the government website, Leguizamón wrote the popular, well known numbers Lloraré, La arenosa, Balderrama, and La pomeña, many of which were performed at the fair. He was born September 29th, 1917 and died September 27th, 2000, making the day of his homage exactly between his birth and death date. In addition to the homage to Leguizamón, the fair will have its traditional stands selling crafts, foods from all regions of Argentine, and wine and there will be traditional dancing open to public participation. The fair is open from 11 to 8pm.
