One of Buenos Aires’s most beloved—and depending on who you talk to, hated—soccer teams, La Boca, advanced to the quarter finals of the Copa Sudamericana on Wednesday. They played in Quito, Ecuador and beat Liga Deportiva Universitaria after holding the Ecuadorian side to a 1-1 draw. According to ESPN Soccer Net, Ecuador is now eliminated and Boca will move forward in the tournament to face a tough Brazilian opponent, team name Internacional, in the quarter finals. One other Argentine team, the Argentinos Juniors, advanced to the quarter finals. Juniors beat the Mexican team San Luis Potosi 2-0 at home in Diego Maradona Stadium. Juniors will also face a Brazilian team, this one named Palmeiras, in the quarter finals.
