A City of Monumental Passion, not Monuments

Buenos Aires is for passion, not history; at least, this is how CBS News describes Buenos Aires in a new article. Instead of going from war memorial to monument, tourists who really enjoy their trip to the city go from Argentine passion to Argentine passion: from tango to soccer to steak and wine. The article also discusses how this famous city is the ideal destination for tourists travelling on a budget—something more and more people may now need to worry about. As many economies around the world are feeling the heat, porteños are mostly still just feeling the heat of oncoming summer (though who knows when this may change). Many of the city’s cultural activities are free because they are subsidized by the government and activities that aren’t free are still much cheaper than their counter parts in Europe or the United States.
