The oldest and most important classic race in the Argentine horse racing world will take place this Saturday, December 13, 2008.  The prize was created in 1887 in honor of the first president and founder of the Buenos Aires Jockey Club, Carlos Pellegrini, also a President of Argentina.  The race runs a distance of 2400 meters and marks the end of the horse racing season in Argentina. Held at the Hipodromo de San Isidro at 1pm, the event will have a playground for children, a classic car exhibition as well as musical performances.  The proceeds will go toward assistance to the Fundacion Hospital Juan A.
