Argentina´s antitrust commission ordered Telecom Italia to stall it´s participation in Telecom Argentina due to Telefonica´s indirect stake in the Italian company. The resolution, sent by Telecom Argentina to the Buenos Aires stock exchange advised the company to “abstain” from any and all trade activity until the government makes a final ruling. Spain´s Telefonica bought a 10% share in Italy´s Telecom. Telecom and Telefonica Argentina are the two largest telephone companies, and thus the Argentine government froze the pending involvement, citing monopoly concerns over the market.
