Three Italian climbers were rescued from the largest mountain in the Americas. The climbers suffered from from hypothermia, dehydration and severe bruising. A blinding snow storm cost them their visibility and their route as they reached the summit, with three members of their party passing away from injuries sustained, including their Argentine guide. An 80 person rescue team was summoned to retrieve the climbers and help them descend the mountain. Officials said that two to three people die every year out of the several thousand that attempt to climb Aconcagua.
