The head of the Argentine Society of Writers is calling for Borges to be brought back to Buenos Aires. His body buried in Geneva, Switzerland, where he had wished to rest. Borges was outspoken in his request to not have his death be a part of the “Buenos Aires media circus,” nor to rejoin his family in their Recoleta Cemetery mausoleum. The proposal being discussed by the Argentine Congress is not an uncommon suggestion. The bodies of Evita and Juan Peron were similarly moved postmortem.
