Timbó Posada Hostel in Puerto Iguazu

The awesome patio at Timbo Posada in Puerto Iguazu I have stayed in great hostels, horrible hostels and decent enough hostels. However, I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived at Timbó Posada hostel in Puerto Iguazu. Upon arriving at the bus station, a woman told me it was not a nice place to stay. However, I have to disagree with her, as I thought it was one of the most delightful hostels I have ever stayed in. It reminded me of a little tropical bungalow. Our hostel room was nice, simply decorated and the bed was surprisingly comfortable. We did not have an air conditioner, but some rooms do offer it. I would recommend trying to reserve the air-conditioned rooms, as Iguazu is very hot and humid. However, the hostel rooms do have fans, which is a necessity because the wind keeps the bugs away!

Timbo Posada Hostel, Puerto Iguazu The hallway leading to the rooms is charming, has little tables and chairs and opens up into the garden in the back. This garden is what makes this Iguazu hostel so endearing. It is extremely green, peaceful and there is an outdoor kitchen and dining area. There is also a very comfortable hammock to lie in while chatting with your friends over some afternoon snacks and wine. In addition, the one service this hostel offers that sets it apart from all others is their great breakfast.

Timbo Posada Hostel Common Area Every morning, we had a quiet breakfast in their outdoor kitchen area. They have coffee, cereal, yogurt, toasted bread, pastries and fresh squeezed orange juice! It was a great way to start our day. However, they usually did not have everything set up until after 8am. This can be a problem if you want to get a really early start at the falls, so plan your day accordingly. Luckily, this hostel has a great location. It is a three-minute walk to the bus station, and it is located in downtown. Therefore, we were close to all of the restaurants, and the falls were a twenty-minute bus ride away with great scenery.

Iguazu Hostel Yard During our time in Iguazu, we wanted a quieter and more relaxing atmosphere. If this is what you are looking for, then I would strongly recommend this hostel. I would say the majority of the people staying at Timbó Posada were a little older. If you are looking for a party, there are other hostels in Iguazu that will more fully provide this atmosphere. I recommend you figure out what kind of atmosphere and social interaction you are seeking.

Iguazu Hostel Room I really enjoyed the staff as well as the other guests staying at Timbó Posada. They were nice, helpful and pleasant to be around. I must mention that there is only one computer available, and it is also shared with the office. Therefore, I did not feel like the Internet was that easily accessible. However, this is about the only thing I could complain about. Overall, I was very happy we chose the Timbó Posada, and I would definitely recommend it!

Thanks for the recomendation. We will be coming to Iguazu in mid January. I keep reading that this time of the year is crazy in Argentina. Will we be able to get a private room without reservations? If not, how early are these typically made?
Thanks,
Jason
