transportation1thumbnail.jpgThe main transportation hub of San Salvador de Jujuy is the bus station. A mandatory stop for anyone going through the area, many companies offer anything from local services stopping on the side of the road everywhere between San Salvador and the border with Bolivia, to long distance buses that go to Buenos Aires. If you’re coming from Capital Federal, it should take you close to 20 hours by bus. It takes two hours coming from Salta, and about four hours to get to the Bolivian border. There’s also a relatively small airport about 30 km away from San Salvador, with daily flights between Buenos Aires and San Salvador on Aerolíneas Argentinas.

Once you’re in town, there are many car rental companies if you’re feeling adventurous, or taxi companies that can take you around the province. If there are several of you, it might even turn out to be cheaper to take a cab rather than a bus.
