PrintLocal specialties include the famed “Sanjuanino†empanadas, meat or creamed corn pasties which must be accompanied by a white wine from the region – a chilled Callia or Graffigna Chardonnay or Semillon goes down very nicely, or a fruity Etchart Torrontes from Salta. Also on the local menu is goat, usually done on the parrilla and barbequed to crispy perfection. It makes a welcome change from the ubiquitous steak.
