Wine Tours

Wine Casks in MendozaThe most obvious “activity” in Mendoza is to go wine-tasting. Check in with your hotel or hostel about tours. Unlike in Napa, many wineries are not open to drive up traffic. Many adhere to a strict schedule of tours—if you’re late, you’re out of luck. Don’t be discouraged, however, the staff at most lodging places are used to the drill and can help you design a personal tour.

Get Outside:

Mendoza CountrysideIn the summer, there are many hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding excursions possible. The adventurous and seriously trained mountaineers will be found in Aconcagua Provincial Park, home to the second highest mountain in the world. There are lots of hikes in the area, so bring your boots.

In the winter, Mendoza is home to some of the ski jet set. Any winter sport you can think of, you can practice here.
