While in Mendoza for wine tours and travel, blogger Aushiro had a chipped tooth fixed for $40 USD, a price that is just under a tenth of what it would cost in the United States. Wtih a favorable exchange rate, at high quality doctors and dentists, Argentina is fast becoming a destination for both dentistry and medical surgery. Even with dental insurance in the US, the co-pay would be higher for the operation. Though Aushiro didn’t come to Argentina for dentistry, he knew that Mendoza was a great place to get the procedure done. Within a day or so, he was back to sipping Malbecs and munching steak, tooth intact, and ready to continue his journey.
