This question goes out to all the Argentians here...
What dish would you say I HAVE to eat when I come to Argentina? I think you may say steak... but I hope not. We have that here!
Is there an Argentinian national dish? Something simple maybe, but something that everyone in your country knows?

That\'s and easy question man. Steak is not the same as Asado. Asado is a variety of meats including \"achuras\", which you don\'t hace on the US, on a grill which is cooked with charcoal not gas and is done slowly for an hour or more. Besides asado, the most tipical dish here are empandas which are a half-moon shaped pastry dough, fried or baked, with diverse fillings. To know more about it check out our empanada guide here

Ok great - I will certainly look out for those when I visit. Do many restaurants sell asados? It seems a little impractical if the cooking time is over an hour? Or maybe they always have some on the go...
The empandas look delicious too - will most definately try those!

i would like some Argentinian recipes, too. something that i can make at home with no sweat. i mean, not literally. but something easy and i can tell my family, that this is an Argentinian recipe. can somebody help me? I am sure that they would like it because our country has spanish origins and we love mediterranean food as well. thanks for the help!
Hi there! I\'m not really sure about other foods in Argentina but I have been fantasizing about tasting their Carribean Shrimp Pate. I\'ve read its recipe and It sounds delicious. I know I can make it here but it\'s different if it\'s really made by someone from Argentina. :)
Um, I\'m guessing you have the wrong country. No Caribbean Shrimp down here.
I also would recommend the empanadas (once you\'ve tried the asados). And, although it\'s not technically the national dish, pizza and italian food in general are very good down here because of all the immigration there was from Italy early last century.
