Forty-four people were injured while on-board a commuter train in La Lucila, a northeast suburb of Buenos Aires. The accident, which happened on the Mitre line, occurred when a moving train failed to stop, and crashed into a standing train at the station during the peak of rush hour. The Mitre line services the Vicente Lopez and San Isidro region, including Tigre, which are all popular places to live for those who commute in and out of the center of the city. Trains run from the central Retiro station to theses suburbs about every 10 minutes, and thousands of travelers use the line daily to get back and forth. The cause of the accident has yet to be released, however none of the injuries reported were serious, and the regular train schedule has resumed.
