Steak at a Parilla

Thanks to picture_bunny for this great Argentine Steak.

There is a parrilla restaurant on practically every block in Buenos Aires, but some are worth traveling to from outside of your immediate surroundings, either for the excellent quality of food, the ambiance (or both).

Cabaña las Lilas
Located in one of the most exclusive areas of the city, brings very good food and excellent service to the table. While the dishes are typical of parrilla cuisine, the ambiance is not- it is decidedly upscale and geared towards a discerning international audience.

La Cabrera
La Cabrera serves excellent meat and accompaniments, if you can get over the fact that you’ll likely have to wait quite a while to get in. Luckily, the restaurant provides free beverages and picadas to those who stick around.
Hint: Try putting your name in at their sister restaurant down the block, La Cabrera Norte. Located at Cabrera 5127. Tel: 4832-5754

El Desnivel
El Desnivel is an authentic parrilla experience in the heart of San Telmo. The food is well-prepared, diverse, and very reasonably priced, although the quality of service is unpredictable.

El Obrero
El Obrero is located outside of the typical tourist circuit, but is well-worth the taxi ride. The food is incredible and the ambiance is unapologetically blue-collar- photos of celebrities and local sports teams spatter the walls. Cash only.
